Fatal Shooting After a Attempted Robbery Outside of a Popular Sub Shop in Jeffersontown (Louisville, KY)

On October 20th a man held a gun to another man’s head, demanding money outside of a sub shop. After the robbery, the suspect fled to a parking lot at a near by Holiday Inn. The police were on the scene within minutes. The pursuit ended when the suspect pulled out what appeared to be a firearm from his waistband which resulted in Jeffersontown police officers shooting the suspect. While the two officers preformed first aid, a syringe full of what the officers suspected to be heroin fell out of the suspects pocket. The suspect died later that night at the University of Louisville Hospital.

The robbery took place outside my place of work. Since the incident occurred, customers kept asking me and other employees for details about what happened and also wanted to know our reaction to the news. Even though the cops killed a man who had a…
