Today is a sad day for all of football. After 18 amazing years, Peyton Manning has decided to hang his cleats up for good and retire. Manning has been a childhood hero of mine. He’s the reason I played football growing up and the reason I love football so much now. Manning chose the perfect time to retire. He just won the Super Bowl and he’s ending his career on a positive note. Manning will forever be one of the greatest football players in NFL history. Rather you liked him or not, there’s no denying that he completely revolutionized the quarterback position and held the standards that all new quarterbacks were compared to.

Manning finished his career with 71,940 passing yards, 539 touchdowns, and a 65.3 completion percentage. According to SportsNation, Manning holds a total of 21 major NFL records. Not including the minor records he holds. Manning ends his…
