If you have not been following the New York Jets, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets organization have been at a stalemate on a new contract.
After watching Brock Osweiler and Sam Bradford get paid big money in free agency, Fitzpatrick demanded relatively the same figures. However, the Jets made only one offer worth $7 million and had sat on that since free agency opened. The amount looks very disrespectful considering his stats were much better than the other two.
Neither party will budge. Fitzpatrick wants around $16 million a year. The Jets just cannot afford that due to cap limits. Surely, if possible, the Jets would have made room for Fitzpatrick. Moving Muhammad Wilkerson was the only piece to move to create cap space, but they kept him with the franchise tag.
