For the first time since 1985, the number two, three and four teams in the nation all lost on Saturday. Many college football fans believed that the CFB Playoffs were almost set but that doesn’t seem to be the case after this crazy week of college football.
When a team earned one loss during the BCS era their season would be considered over because the national championship consisted regularly of the top two teams with zero loses. That is no longer an issue with the CFB playoffs. Teams now fight for the top four spots, and the methodology, while still secretive and subjective, is fairly well understood.
